 Sip to Live's success is measured by the Triple Bottom Line:  People, Planet, and Profit.  In times when the world is feeling the accumulated pain of years of corporate greed, the business community must re-evaluate its relationship with society.  Talib Kweli once explained that instant gratification means "they want the cash faster!"  For too many 
businesses today, that is the mentality.  Instead of making things that people need, they make people think they need things.  We didn't create the need for tea- globally, it is the second most popular drink after water.  We blend incredible teas, and hope that the market appreciates our work.  How do we strive to maximize our triple bottom line performance?

The Story

The Sip to Live story began my senior year in high school. A young, enthusiastic teacher of comparative religion exposed me to the idea that the line of work a person chooses has spiritual significance. If you work in an organization that does work harmful to the environment, exploits people economically, or depends on war as a primary line of business, it impedes your spiritual progress. This idea made a significant impact on me. I wondered, “how many jobs can I have where I am not doing harm to anyone?" At any rate, the concept stuck with me.

Why Sip to Live?

Sip to Live was founded on the principle of giving life as a way of making a living. In a comparative religion class that I took in high school I was exposed to the buddhist principle ahimsa, which means non-harmfulness. One of the principles of Buddhism is to make right livelihood, meaning that it is spiritually beneficial to make a living without causing harm to yourself, others or our larger environment.
