Yogis study the science of breath. The strategic aim of yoga is complete connection with the Love Supreme, who is known by many names. The tactical aim of meditation is control of the breath, which cultivates one's connection to the spirit of life(the word "spirit" comes from the Latin "spiritus," which means "breath.") Yoga aligns the body and sets the breath to a steady rythm, so that the body has a steady intake of prana (energy). The body receives prana from three sources: Breath, food, and sunlight, in respective order. We can survive for weeks without food and days without water, but without breath life will be over in a matter of minutes.
If you think of the body as a car, breath is our fuel, because it is our primary source of energy. Through control of the breath, yogis put the body on energy-efficient "cruise control," and devote their surplus of energy to spiritual development. Sip to Live teas open up the breath so that you can experience herbs and life with an open spirit. For that reason, our teas are beneficial to meditation. One of the purposes of yoga, and of Sip to Live tea, is to create sukham. Sukham is a Sanskrit word that has a few meanings, including "good space," or "space within which energy travels freely." If you have blockage, which can be physical or mental, the energy within you cannot travel freely. The asanas (postures) of Hatha yoga create sukham by directing the breath to create good space in specific parts of the body. Every Sip to Live blend contains herbs that are specifically beneficial to breath as well as digestion, which gives the diaphragm "sukham" to work the bellows of the breath.
Digestion is another critical function for the enjoyment of life. When food backs up in the stomach, the diaphragm's range of motion is restricted, which restricts the breath. In addition, accumulations of undigested food in the digestive tract inhibit the absorption of nutrients from new meals. In order for the body to function properly, the processes of prana (which also means absorption of energy) and apana (elimination of toxins, undigested food, and other waste products, including phlegm) must be in balance. Every Sip to Live tea contains herbs that are beneficial to digestion, thereby creating good space for both breath and digestion. When I blend these teas, I approach the Love Supreme with the humble request that you get a little closer to it with every sip.

Namaste!
